Hi, What are you being charged by diy livery yards for haylage this year? Just wanting to know if to expect a rise this winter.

Do you mean cost per net/bale??

We're only on hay just now which is about £32 per bale. I think haylage is £35 just now but I expect prices to go up as we hit winter.

I meant if you are on DIY and you are charged per week ad lib. Hope that makes more sense.

Ah right sorry! We're charged per net so I'm not much help. I believe at my friends yard they are £15 per week for adlib which is considered quite expensive.

Can I ask what you are charged per net?

It's usually about 75p per net.

Y/O fills lots of same size nets and we mark them down as we take them. She then divides the price of the bale by the number of nets we got out of it which is a fair way to do it.

Does work out a bit more expensive than having my own bale but we don't have a lot of storage at ours.

I think we are 16 pound a week ad lib but might be 17. Used to be 14 but went up last year. Really need to double check before winter arrives!

That's what it is at my friends yard - I suspect you might be at the same place

Have to say - £2 is very steep IMO although horses there live out all year so it's not an issue for her.

hmmmm where is ur friend at? yeah imo 2 a net is a bit steep bit when i asked they explained that 14 is ad lib (theyll be on that in winter) and until winter they work it out at 2 a day.
