Hi :)

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a list/calendar of shows in scotland?

Or does anyone know if the Horse and Hound show issue will help me or is it mainly english shows?

Thanks

Hiya, scottish and northern is usually quite good, Havent had a proper look through H&H tonight yet but prob mostly English shows. Is it Show ground shows your after? If not I just usually look on the centres website. The bigger Shows will have a website as well. Where abouts are you? :D

Yeah and missed the scottish and northern with there 'pull out planner'! Yeah I was going to buy the H&H but then had a though that usually they are mainly english shows. Its more regional agricultular type shows, already have schedules for RHS and Blair but really want her out and about at smaller shows to see how she gots on as shes only 1 year old (or 9months technically!) and would like her doing some in hand classes. Im near stirling about 50 minutes from you if your glasgow location is right? So pretty central to most places!

Have you looked at ayr? Loads of classes on there, what you looking to do? Drymen is another not sure about classes there though.

Hadn't thought about Ayr! Im looking to do In hand sports horse classes, shes also chaps registired and could probably get away with a yearling hunter class at the moment. Yeah have drymen scribbled on my note pad to find out about!

EquiAds usually have upcoming shows at the back each month

I tend to have a flick through equi-ads each month but tends to be clinics/schooling evenings at the back.

I second that! Word of mouth tends to be the best way :p
Have a look on riding club websites:

Jumps Ec
Ingilston
Ayrshire
Lanark Equi (small shows I think  )
Gleneagles
SNEC

Carnwath have a good wee show too!

All the best!

Yeah stirling drymen and doube and dunblane are all about 20 minutes from us.
Thanks i have all these written down now its just time to work out our calendar! Im hoping for sports horse classes so can qualify for blair but shes also eligible for CHAPS classes and i could get away with a yearling hunter at the moment although maybe not when she matures a bit more!

You must be rather close to me. If you get snequestrian every month they have a calander so the county shows will be in that. Really need word of mouth or check websites regularly for smaller shows.

On a side note about stirling show- I thought it was abismal last year! Warm up arenas were shocking.

Hi kirsty where about are you? Yeah im just starting to plan our summer as im bit of an organised freak haha i was only doing in hand classes which did run very late but they always seem to have difficulty with ground conditions at stirling!
