Scotsburn report- looks rubbish on paper but good in reality!

Let's not go into that. 15-20mins before a dressage test is just FAR TOO LATE for me to be turning up with her number!

To be honest I under-estimated how stressed Figjam was about this and she did super-good under the circumstances! :)

Well rescued hehe

Great report as per usual Mrs, I can never remember each fence well enough to do a decent one!! Finally feeling back to normality after taking the shop to Strathallan yesterday, I was holding my eyes open with matchsticks after having to get up at 6am again!!

What a great weekend we had. I'm finally getting over my frustrations and am so please with how B went. I think he and H must have overheard someone discussing the hanging log overnight and both come to the conclusion that it needed a second look! Also feeling better after discussing the course with several people who all said it was a toughie for a PN.

I think B must like the 'tough love'. Did you hear him trying to chat to H in the dressage warm up? He must be of the age now that girls are getting more important than work, his other girlfriend is a grump aswell!!

Oh and Mr FJ, if it's any consolation D was also V late with my number and had several V stressed phonecalls as I was trying to warm up on a slope behind the horseboxes waiting for him with only mins to go!!

muffinthemule- I think you're missing the sarcastic tone of Mr FJ's reply there! ;)

tricksibell- thank you, it is nice to have "the first one" out of the way, hopefully some improvement at the next one?!

Olivio- you poor thing, you must be shattered! Did you have a good day yesterday though? I definitely think you need to be chuffed, esp since you were competing two levels higher than a year ago! I'm glad no one told us it was a toughie PN before riding- do you really think it was?

I know, poor B did seem to like H, no idea why since she was such a cowbag to him in the stable when I was around! But no giving Mr FJ sympathy thank you very much- who's side are you on?! ;) He didn't even have his phone on him so I had no way of finding out if he was 1min or 10min away from getting me my number! Shall not be doing that again for sure!!! Yet you still managed to go in and do a lovely dr test, pah! :p

No I'm not on Mr FJ's side, just pointing out he wasn't the only one!! Not sure about the lovely test, apparently it was 'carefully' ridden, she must have said that about 5 times on my sheet. Not sure if it's a compliment or not!!

I think the xc had far more combinations than we've ever seen before. Difficult to say though as I've only really seen Scone and Kirri. All the courses have changed so much from 15 years ago!! Plus both our ponies jumped really well apart from their blip which helps it feel easier!

Olivio- you certainly managed to deal with it far better than me! :o I'd take carefully ridden as a compliment, better than any of my comments and my "5" for my riding. :( I didn't think any of the combinations were particularly technical or tricky though, even if there were a few on course? Except that nasty half coffin of course...! :p Yes, got to focus on how well they handled the rest. :)

tricksibell- next will be Hopetoun PN, will be entering this week. Got a training day with "St Gatherer" at Oatridge before it too. :) How's Shauny boy doing? Will the Shauny Show be on the road any time soon? :)

Aww sorry if that was me on Friday night, I defo didn't hear you shout my name - I wasn't just ignoring you haha!! I would have been with 2 other girls who both had blonde hair and I would have been wearing a BRIGHT red jacket?

Max was a clever pony.. sort of haha. He did a nice dressage and got his personal best score of 36.5 - mega pleased with that :) Went clear SJ and I was practically crying at the end of the round because I was so proud of him lol.. its a long story but basically our SJ has gone completely to pot lately - he has been stopping constantly in the SJ at competitions, and just last week he had a fall after getting a pole stuck between his front leggies :( - been really disheartening and I was quite quickly losing confidence but he jumped a brilliant round on Sat so I couldn't be happier. XC was a major bummer. He went clear right up until the water - tricky water for a PN I thought? Did the first step down then stopped at the 2nd one for an extra looky at the big puddle.. dropped his shoulder in the process and I plopped off!! Haha, quick leg back up though and straight into the water and through to finish. When we checked the scoreboard we figured out I would have been 2nd if he'd gone clear, but hey ho what can you do. He was super duper and didn't mean to dump me really!

See you soon x

Just thought I'd add in how much I always love your reports and pictures :D
Well done - the dressage is annoying but at least you stayed in the arena and didn't break anything! And she just looks like a beast cross country - absolutely loving it all the way round :D Good luck for the next event.

kerri- yes, that was you then! I had a sudden attack of paranoia that I was shouting at the wrong person, so didn't chase after you, sorry! :o You must have been in the zone! ;) That is really fantastic about the DR and SJ but argh at the XC! Did you "dismount" to the side and avoid taking a swim?! Hope so! Well done for getting back on to finish and that would have been an amazing result "if only"! Next time...! :D

BronsonNutter- aw, thank you! :o I do get a little carried away when typing out my reports, but it's nice to know that folk enjoy skim reading/looking at the pics! ;) Yes, I guess we could always have done worse in the dressage and she does love her jumping, she's such fun. :D Not bad for a 19 year old cob-X, eh?!

Stop sharing her age - isn't a woman allowed some discretion :p

Anyway, she's only as old as she feels, which seems to be about 8 just now!

Re Novice - sure, why not? I'm so desperate to event I'll take any offers

oh poop, well next time you see me 'in the zone' come and chase after me and we can have a yap!!

yes luckily I landed on the ledge instead of in the drink!!

P.S. Forgot to say, Max also jumped the middle of number 3, I felt like I was in the air for about 2 minutes :O !!

What's next for you and Hopalong?

n_l_m- ha ha, I agree, she definitely does not act/feel her age, which is good news for me. :)

kerri- phew! That water did not look good for swimming in! Glad I wasn't the only one with a mad horse making big fences even bigger, it did indeed feel mahoosive jumping over that part of that fence, didn't it?! Oatridge training day is next and then Hopetoun. :) What about you guys?

What a super report and i love all your pictures, well done to complete it and i'm sure the stressage bit will come better with less rushing etc! Great for your first PN and the main thing is, you really looked to have enjoyed it!
