Has been a horrendous night overnight and all day today with non-stop heavy rain here in Perthshire.

Got up to yard tonight to find my TB shaking like a jelly and my wee mare soaked. Both their rugs had failed to keep them dry.

Have kept them in tonight to give them a chance to have a sleep. Wee mare is well happy with that but big lad none too happy and all stressed as he usually does 1st night that he's kept in during winter.

What are you guys doing as weather warning overnight tonight with further heavy rain and high winds? Not that I think we need the warning as have put up with it all day!!! Have you brought in for the night?

Sure have

My lot have plenty of space and shelter to take themselves in if they want. I heard it bucketing down through the night and flew up this morning to take them all in to dry off. Shelters are all open and cosy with hay and water if they need it. My two soppy ones are rugged now but they are left to come in if they choose to. So much mud though and Winter hasn't even hit yet!!

My lot are in, they have a steading they put themselves into, straight from the field!

Their even eating some of last years hay that they turned their noses up to a few weeks ago!

Its been torrential rain ALL day today (North of Aberdeen)

It feels like winter has started way too early!!

Bloomin tornado's across the water always give us trouble. I suppose we should be glad it's the tail end we get rather than the full blown storm!!

Always feel like a softy bringing in cos of rain but can't ignore my big wet shaking boy!! He was trying not to yawn before I left but he couldn't help himself so must be tired with it all!

Nope!
In the very far north here and it's overcast but dry. Had a fair amount of rain for a couple of hours this pm but had stopped by tea time.
Not often we get to gloat over the weather!

Chucking it down all day, ponies out naked. They have a field shelter, its up to them. It'll need to be a lot colder before I start rugging.

Mine all live out, however upon coming home to see my friends horse who Im looking after shaking like a leaf (his rug soaked through on the shoulders) I have admitted defeat and brought him in for tonight with lots of hay and a nice dry rug. My other woosy horse I let into the yard this morning (which the 2 old ponies live in with access to the shelter and stable) and he has refused point blank to go out into the field!! Mum went to check on him when I was at work to see if he wanted out of the yard but no, he had planted himself in the shelter! So have left him there.

Needless to say I didn't ride this evening :P

We've had it not too bad today, but mine have been in on other nights when its been dreadful

They even have rugs on, this coming from someone who doesn't like to put rugs on till at least October, but it has just been so awful

Mine has been in all day (he's on a diet), when i went to bring him in this morning he actually came when i shouted.
When i put him out tonight, he looked at me as if to say have you not realised its raining lol, but its his first night out with a rug on.

Gosh and I thought I was being soft by putting a rug with a neck rug attachment on! I have to say my girls rain sheet had soaked through but I was lucky enough to have another light weight rug to replace it with

she won't be coming in until the end of this month at the earliest.

Mine are in, my main stables and yard are flooded under a foot of water so I've had to move them in to old stable block. Their quite happy in all together munching on hay and dry.

Yard and main stables are going to take some drying out got to get the foot of water out of them first! No point and doing that until its stopped P*****g Rain. Great Fun !

Mine is in but she's in everynight to stay off the grass. There's about 12 other horses at the yard and only one other is in. The rest will use shelter in the field if they want it.

Just got back from checking on him (you lot were making me feel guilty!

). He and his buddy (both nekkid) in the big pony jail seem just fine: he came when I called, and deigned to approach me for his apple when I put the big brolly down. They have lots of trees to hide under, if they so choose!

My feet, on the other hand, are completely soaked: was wearing runners, since the other day when I shook out my wellies, a giant spider fell out. It'll be quite a while before I have the courage to put them on again!

I must be the meanest owner in the world! Mine was out all day naked, brought in this afternoon and we went out for a hack in the rain (lots of trot/canter/gallop work, she was flying and loving it!) and then back out in the field for the night! I relented and put a rain sheet on as the temp has dropped a couple of degrees recently- first time she's been rugged since April.

Mine will be in overnight from tonight because when I went to bring him in to ride this morning he was shivering with the cold. So he's in his stable overnight now. Its rained nonstop here for weeks and he's obviously had enough of it.

No mine out--we sent the rain north cause we have had enough, my grazing under 3feet of water 3 times in last fortnight and Eskadalemuir recorded rainfall 393.2mm wettest August since records began in 1911!
