Fife Foxhounds will be running a "Newcomers to Hunting" day on Saturday, 16th October at Hilton Farm, Cupar at 10.00am. It will be a great opportunity to meet the hounds and huntsman, ride over interesting country and see what happens during a day's hunting. Its not as difficult as you may think and above all its great fun. There will be opportunities to enjoy jumping natural obstacles but this is optional! And dont worry help will be on hand to show you the ropes!

Looks interesting. I had hoped to go along to the Kingdom Draghounds this season then found that they are not currently running this winter :-(
OH went out with the Lauderdale last winter but my young horse never been and think that would be a little too busy for him.
Any idea what the countries like and how fit the horses have to be?

I was told if your horse can trot for 15 mins without breaking into a sweat, hey are fit enough for newcomers day. I have no idea what the countries like but posie should be able to tell us

Its quite hilly around Cupar. Not mountain sized, bit all the same it is hilly.

Thanks for the info. Just found out the Lauderdale have a Hunt ride that weekend as well so now not sure which to go for! Why do good things always clash?
