My 15yo TV mare has been scouring now for a couple of weeks. Normal poos and only scouring at night. Everything else completely normal, no signs of ill health, no loss of appetite. Have wormed for redworms too.

I have tried NAF thrive with no success. She is turned out all day with good quality dry haylage at night. I would try hay but she's not interested in it!

She is fed Alfa a, balancer and ready mash. Have heard 'equine gold biotal' is good just about to buy it but would like some other opinions first..

Have also heard about live yogurt.. In what quantities would this have to be fed to make a difference?

If she is definitely not scouring during the day then I suspect the grass she is eating during the day is partly causing the night time scouring. Try yea sacc or activated charcoal. Hopefully she will settle with this warmer snap.

Thanks! Had started feeding the NAF thrive as it is meant to be especially good for the spring grass. Have looked at yea sacc do you think more worthwhile to try this than equine gold biotal?

I am not familiar with the Naf one I'm afraid but they may all take a few days to have an effect so give each one time.
