Screw loose!!!

First thing that needs to be checked is his eyesight - Ty was blind before i brought him and NOBODY knew....the vet thinks he suffered a blow to the head and that caused the eye to unattach itself to the blood vessels. If he's highly strung and just gone blind, there's gonna be issues there!

I know it sounds far fetched but you never know!

has the horse always been like this (ie before he bashed his head in)/
 
A trainer near me used to have a horse like that. He just thought it was being a pain so one day when it started he really gave it a few good wacks and it just collapsed and died there.
A Postmortum (sp?) revealed that it had a brain tumour, so when it was worked it was put under stress, which made it unpredictable, and those smacks just stressed the por horse so much it bust blood vessels or sumit and bled out in its brain. The bloke has never forgave himself

I would trust your intuition so option b definitely. As to how to say that to the employer...perhaps just make them believe they don't really want this horse as it's self-destructive and unpredictable and might bed run a very good employee...;)
 
Sounds like a bullet job agree with some of the others. Bad behaviour/high jinks is one think but being totally irrational even in the stable is not normal.
You have ridden enough babies and racehorses to know the difference - Would have a chat about it depends how well you get on with your new employer.
