scurfy

i noticed today that our staffy is very scurfy
he has never had this before
he has never been bathed or anything because he has never needed it.
anyone know what causes this or how to get rid of it?

Has his diet changed at all lately - even to a new brand of mix?

Any other changes: where you walk/worming/flea treatment?

nope but he has had diarhea, not sure if he ate something on a walk (or possibly in the kitchen as he is a bit of a hoover!)
could that cause it?

I'd be surprised if eating just one thing would cause the scurfiness (although it could certainly account for the trots!). Has there been any other change in his behaviour?

Scurf would really suggest an ongoing issue. Dogs often develop itchy, flaky skin in response to some diets - wheat is a common cause. What food is he on? It is possible for them to develop an intolerance to something at any time - even if they have been perfectly happy on it for years!
