- have never seen/heard of 'walk and trot' dressage tests til I read about them on here - are they riding club competitions or open competitions - how do I go about finding them?!!! (Herts/Bucks/Berks area) Thanks!

They do them all over the place up here! They are just open competitions, often attatched to trailblazers or something. Do you have a local equestrian press? they will be advertised in there!

There aren't many of them round here, but I wish there was!!

tbh, as I've recently joined the classical riding club, I'm wondering if it's worth trying to organise a comp myself??

I have NO idea about the insurance imlications etc though.

Maybe if I asked my riding club if I could host one under their name etc, but I'd organise it??

There does seem to be a real demand for them.

How successful do you guys think a beginners dressage day would be? say one that only had walk/trot and prelim dressage?

I think it would be pretty successful.

A local riding club holds uses that test quite often and they are always very busy with entries.

Our Club used that test once but the entries weren't that great (Probably because we are known for holding Prelims, Novices and the odd Elementary.

I would be interested to run a beginners day and a more advanced day myself. I am not sure if it would work though. My Geru is around somewhere, I am sure she will know.
