Totally waterproof when you put them on dry, if they have got thoroughly soaked i.e. removing ice from water trough, and you put them on again later and they are still damp then I have found water will eventually come through.
Having said that, I put mine on the aga after wearing them in the morning and they are then warm at dry when I want to put them on again in the evening. They won't dry in time if just left on the sideboard inside.
For me they are doing the job very well, keep my hands warm and dry (if used properly) and are not so thick that I can't undo the haynet strings etc. Easy to wash too.
ETA: I have very poor circulation and these are the only gloves I have found that actually manage to keep my hands warm - even when it was minus 16 degrees C last Saturday morning!
I bought a pair few years back, I thougth it would be good for handling the soaked hay etc, 1st time of using them they leaked between the fingers, I had the pimple ones, took them back had another pair same happened, not sure what the other designs are like, I do have a pair of the pink waterproof riding gloves they seem ok, but I hate wearing gloves to ride so they havent' really been tested yet.
If you were going to go for the pimple palm ones I wouldn't bother
I bit the bullet and bought some after reading some good reviews and some bad (Amazon) but LOVE them ! Fab for dealing with soaked hay in the winter, no more chapped sore hands
I bought some ladies all weather riding gloves a week ago, they've been excellent for doing the horses in the cold but when I wore them for cycling to work (40min) I found they were a bit sweaty inside. They dried out on top of the radiator overnight so not too bad.
I have the ladies all weather ones, they are great! they aren't the warmest model they do but I can only wear them when its cold or my hands get too hot. I also wouldn't want to go any bulkier than that model as they are only really *just* okay for me to school in, but perfect for hacking, hunting and better for fiddling with rug clasps etc in the cold weather than a thick pair of ski gloves whilst just as warm .
I have the Sealskinz winter riding gloves and they are brilliant.
I was sceptical at first but I have used them for dunking hay and fishing ice out of troughs and never got wet once.
I have some but they aren't the riding ones. They are very good and very warm but you really need the riding ones if you want to ride in them as the ones I have do not have any grip on them.
I got some a couple of years ago, they were great for about 4 months then they started to wear alot very quickly. I did where them 16 hrs a day and did everything in them. I had a pair with a leather palm which were good when wet but as they dried they went very stiff and difficult to get on. But VERY warm, the warmest I have ever had without them being chunky and I was able to do everything in them (buckles, rugs).
I have two pairs only gloves that keep me warm. I find they are waterproof and clean buckets with them on! I can't ride in them as I find them too big but friend does with no problems
I have them and love them... the only problem i find is sometimes i have problems getting them on!? I know that sounds so pathetic - but true! I find the lining within the fingers sometimes gets a messed up and especially if i have taken them off mid ride.. I can't get my fingers back in the ruddy things!!??
I know that sounds truly hopeless, I am not a complete idiot honest!!
I have the Sealskinz winter riding gloves and couldn't imagine a winter without them - I'm on my second pair. They are fantastic, I used to get such painful splits on my hands... not anymore. They are a little thick for schooling in, I wear them for hacking and just about every other yard job there is. My hands now resemble ladies hands rather than that of an 80 year old farmer
I pop them on the boiler overnight to dry and yes, they do go a tad crispy. They do wear out pretty quickly but I work mine very hard
I have the thick riding ones, they are lovely and warm and very good at keeping hands dry but I find the are a little bit bulky and struggle to hold the reins with them. Great for walking the dogs in though.
I have some and love them!! My hands were constaly cold before I got these gloves now they get too hot!! I use them for everything including riding in and they are comfy and very warm.
Yes, bought my first pair of Sealskinz riding gloves (pink and black) this year and they're fantastic. Really warm, very waterproof (like wearing marigolds - you can put your hand into the trough and it stays dry!) and as another poster said, quite tight to get on. Undo the cuff strap and it's easier. I shall defo buy another pair when this pair are worn out.
I have the winter High-vis ones and love them
Cos they are high vis and very bright. I'm confident that my hand signals to cars are seen and I also use them on the bike for the same hand-signal reasons. My problem is they're too warm sometimes
I got some as an early birthday prezzie so I'd have them ready for winter and they are incredible! I've got the winter ones and they keep my hands so warm. I suffer from really bad eczema on my hand and that combined with bad circulation means that my hands usually turn into a complete mess over winter and take months to heal - but they're looking pretty damn good and i'm sure it's thanks to these beauties!
I have 2 pairs of riding ones - the black thicker winter ones, which are great for a very cold day, but I miss the feel. I also recently got the pink lighter weight ones and they are fab - I have the 'feel' back - only comment is sizing in the 'ladies' range is not generous - I had to have XL and I would normally be a M-L.
I'm obviously in the minority here, but I'm not impressed with mine. I *think* they're the ladies riding version. I have short fingers, but had to get the medium, which in other gloves means the fingers are too long. These are a good length on the fingers, but the cuffs are stupidly tight. My fingers are still freezing in them, too. They're fine for Spring and Autumn, but in winter I've had to go back to my ski gloves. Bulky but warmer than the sealskinz. Disappointing, considering the price!
Just checked, they're the All weather riding gloves.
Have had several pairs of the bulky ones for yard work (pimple ones) but they are too thick for riding in. They do work well for keeping hands warm and dry.
Sis and I bought each other a pair of the Hi-Viz riding ones for christmas, they have been thoroughly tested and work very very well. At the price they are though, I am keeping these ones for riding only. (Mind you I did drop one of them on the yard, didn't realise until much later, after I had run over the thing with the car it appears not to have suffered )
