Sealyham Terriers over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A couple of red flags in the advert and top end of the breed price range so expensive for pups bred from a pair of pets.
"These are still on the Kennel clubs endangered breeds list" no such thing - they are on the KC vulnerable breeds list.

Friend of mine bought a miniature Dachshund last year and it was £1450. I have a very poorly bred Sealyham who was a rescue and he is the sweetest dog ever. Under rated and not enough good ones bred.

Price not at all unusual for little friendly dog breeds, espec registered pups. (Edited to add: yes, world gone mad, but whole world, not just this add!) The endangered/vulnerable word mix up seems harmless.

Personally I'd rather have something from two unrelated pets than something over (in!) bred. Don't know this little at all but certainly nothing looks odd about the add to me and they are a very sought after animal - I have something that looks not dissimilar and have been stopped in the street by people hoping I could tell them where to get a sealyham!

Its a dog and its 1k?? ... seriously people are getting more and more stupid! No wonder they are on the vulnerable breeds list!

its not that an outrageous a price when talking about dog breeds-blue French bulldogs can be £2K + as can other breeds. I'd not pay it but there you go-would rather have a Sealyham than a bull dog.

My mum has a Sealyham bitch that has just had one pup. They have a nice nature but a bit high maintenance for me!

What I don't understand is that the breeders will tell you they have can't breed enough to keep up with demand but I don't know anyone who knows what one is!

I can't imagine paying that much for a dog (I swapped an old saddle for my JR!) and I have ponies that cost less but I guess anything is worth what someone is willing to pay.

I haven't seen a Sealyham for years :( It's funny isn't it, when there's posts on here "is X amount too much for this horse" the answer is usually that it's worth what you want to pay and the purchase price is the least of your costs, not why pay £4000 for a Connie, get a cob off DD for £250!

£1000 and £1200 is the price advertised on petsmart both litters Jc reg though . Our family dog was a Sealyham he was a little ****** always getting into fights with other dogs, loyal to his family ( he used to let me dress him up in old nighties etc and push him around in a pram ) but not to be trusted with strangers, fantastic dogs feisty and worth every penny!
