Quick question here. I may be wrong and it may have been asked. Did Lynn Russell do SFAS?

I am an amateur & 2 years ago I entered my home bred, broken, schooled & produced horse for SFAS qualifier at Osbaldeston just to see how he would get on. He won his class, our first attempt, & David Bartram (ride judge whom I had never met before) rode him back to me with the comment "well somebody's done a good job on this".
I was also told he was very well mannered & beautifully presented. I was so proud. Richard Ramsey & David gave me advice on how to improve little things. We went down to the SFAS training day at Arena UK & again David rode all the horses & Richard did inhand. Again lots of help & advice was given none of it required buying expensive equipment. (Although I did buy myself a new shirt & my horse got a new browband.) At HOYS David made a point of greeting the SFAS people & offering help & was always available if needed & was at the collecting ring wishing us all luck. We won our class at HOYS. Manners are of supreme importance & my horse never put a foot wrong. David said I had prepared so well for HOYS & it showed. It was a fantastic experience. The following season I did join BSHA & show at county level & did very well but really don't want to travel up & down motorways at weekends which you have to do really to justify spending all that money on registration fees etc.
I suppose times change & there may well be 'professionals' / people out there who 'bend' the rules but don't let that stop you REAL amateurs out there from having a go. I learned so much from my SFAS experience & now understand better what judges are looking for in ridden showing classes.
