When I was 14, my yard manager looked for a horse for me and came back with an ex racehorse, from the sales.
We called him Max. He was 16.1 hh (I think) and dark bay with a blaze and a white sock or 2 (cant remember off the top off my head which legs he had the socks on and all piccies at home) He was absolutely stunning - but too much for a nervous 14 year old.
I loved him very much but in all honesty couldnt handle him, I think maybe my instructor bought him more for her than me (?) we had an accident riding out, I ended up in hospital and he ended up quite traumatised.
Months of trying to get back on track failed. He saw the vet and had alternative therepy. He was unrideable and I was very scared of him. Luckily the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre took him on for us and I know he has found a good home.
If anyone knows him or if by chance his loaner is on here, I would love some news - good or bad. He was such a sweetheart and although I was desperately sad to let him go, I know it was the best thing for him.
He is the bay gelding lying down in the stable in the TRC gallery.
TRC Max.
Any news anyone? I hope he's well and happy x
