Season Length?

I put the shitland out with the big boys on Saturday 4th and she immediately came into season. She's still squirting for Great Britain after 10 days. I've had mares in the past but don't remember them going on for so long.

Don't aged shitlands go through the Stalnopause or in this case the Geldnopause like the Menopause??? Her back legs and tail are gross and I keep on washing off the sticky stuff but no end in sight.

I think she's foaled in the past looking at her nether region. The poor boys are perplexed.

Usually around a week for most mates but I think it can go on for longer

Some of them go on for a couple of weeks, and it doesn’t stop as they age. No menopause for mares ?

Longest I have known was 3 weeks. This was a mare we had in for covering. We used to cover alternate days from the third day. Had another at the same time who was on for 10 days. Stallion had a wonderful time.

OK thanks all - if it goes beyond 3 weeks I'll worry. She's so sweet and can't understand why all her invitations are being ignored.
