Help- my 8 year old mare is a nightmare when she comes into season so 42 days ago (when she was in season) the vet suggested regumate, she was due to come into season this weekend but as she was competing at Richmond I was planning to stop her regumate tonight when she will have been on it for 30 days, however she is displaying all the signs of a mare in season and is being very difficult. Has anyone experienced similar problems or have any ideas of a solution??

Why were you going to stop it ? You can compete on it, and she will come into season when you stop using it.

The bottle the vet gave me was only to last for 30 days and that was up today as i was told she could only stay on itfor a max of 42 days with out a break. She had it yesterday and again tonight so I didn't think she would display any signs of a season today!

It may not work very well with some mares!

My daughter's mare was on it for a year, then she had a marble inserted. She was scanned prior to going onto Regumate to make sure there wasn't a problem with her ovaries. It does work out very expensive though !
