Seat Bone savers/Seat Savers.. worth the money?!

They seem to cost around £50.00 for a good one..

are they worth the money? do they slip at all aiding a fall or stay in place?

I've got the Heather Moffett one, I bought it when I was going on a long distance riding holiday a few years ago. I liked it so much I've kept on using it ever since. It doesn't slip at all and feels very comfy.

I find a good thick proper sheepskin one is best.....

My friend bought a cheap fake sheepskin cover for her seat and I cut some padding to fit and sewed it on, the whole thing came to about £15 and looks just as expensive as anyone else's. its known as her "cushion" and makes the saddle a whole lot more comfortable

I have a Roma merino sheepskin one, it's really good and although it looks used, it is holding up well. I sat in my friend's Heather Moffett one though and now I HAVE to have one of them! I have no "natural padding" so I need seat savers

I have a Bartl sheepskin one, cost 45 quid but my god its comfy and doesnt slip at all, not one little bit ever, even when my pony cat leaps over jumps and I cling on!!! Its in my signature! Ive had it a year, its been muddy/rained on etc and still looks brand new with a brush down! You can get them online or good tack shops, has to be a Bartl one though!!!

I had a sheepskin type seat saver, which was ok, then I bought a Heather Moffat seat bone saver, and it is BRILLIANT, so comfortable, helps me stay in a good position, is very comfortable for long rides, and never slips at all on the saddle yet easy to remove for tack cleaning.
Well worth the money.

I've got a wrecked sacro iliac joint from having a crashing fall & being rolled on, & used to be bent over like a little old lady when I dismounted. The Heather Moffatt seastbone saver was like having a new back. I could jump without spending 3 days hobbling, I could do sitting trot again. They're even BD-legal now.

I only stopped using it when I got my WOW, which looks after my back equally well.

I have a stephens sheepskin seat saver (made from lambswool) I got mine from ebay for £20 and have never looked back since! lol
Its sooo comfy

Have such a sore bum when i ride without it even with my lovely new saddle

I've used both a HM and a Sheepskin seat saver and feel the GM one offer better padding and grip, also you can wear it for dressage I think
