I was pleased to have found this seat saver shape wise to try and help give a narrower feel to my saddle.
However, I have started a return as the elastic running side to side is going to put a pressure point on my horses back surely? I put photos on a saddle fit page before initiating the return and most agree’d but certainly not everyone.
What does everyone think? It’s quite a tight strap and the seat saver doesn’t fit nicely over the cantle anyway so no chance of it staying in place without the elastic.
I could cut and try to attach (acavallo style maybe?). but don’t want to risk that not working and then not being able to return.

Am I being OTT here, of course the seller tells me they have sold loads and no one else has ever queried this. IMG_0045.jpeg
 
So a different brand, but mum had a similarly attached seat saver and the elastic under the saddle stretched quite quickly to fit the saddle and horse. With no impact on the flocking or horses back.
The stretching didn't change how well the seat saver stayed in place.

She did use it with the cantle to pommel strap underneath so it sat flush with the gullet/saddle. Not sure how yours attaches, but can you change the strap order?

How stretchy is the material?
 
If I switch the straps around the side/side elestic one is even more protruding so will make the potential pressure worse. Although i realise thats probably how its supposed to be.
The seat part is not at all stretchy.

I have used an Acavallo before with the side bits that grip under the panels leaving the gullet clear loosely so it didnt dig into the flock but they are more stable and seem to stay in place better in general, this feels like it needs anchoring on.
 
I have an Acavallo seat saver and have cut off the strap that crosses the horse's back, leaving only the one that attaches through the gullet. It makes no difference to how stable the seatsaver is but definitely doesn't create an unnecessary pressure point on the horse's back. It was cheap though, bought secondhand on Vinted. With yours, given you bought it new, I would return it and find an alternative (eg a Heather Moffett one which attaches under the saddle flaps instead).
 
Yes, I have an acavallo and Heather Moffatt. The idea with this one was the seat shape to help make the twist maybe feel slightly narrower. The other two have the opposite effect. I think this kind is too light and badly fitting to stay still.
Its packed ready to be collected, I was just interested if people agreed or if as the seller seemed to think it was not an issue at all.
