Hi

I am looking to buy a seat saver for use hacking to save a sore bum and would appreciate some suggestions. Those I have looked at online vary so much in price. I want one that will last and do the job well so don't mind paying for good quality. I don't jump or compete, it is just for long distance hacking.

Thanks

Years ago I made my own out of a sheepskin cut to fit with slits for the leathers to go through; the leathers kept it in place on the saddle (well, that and my fat bum!). It looked a bit like the rather swisher ones that the Household Cavalry have.

I've got the Heather Moffatt version.

It seems pricey, but works well, and the suede provides extra grip.

I used to use a synthetic sheepskin one but found it very hot at times, and not that comfortable on long rides.

I now use a Heather Moffat seatbone saver and it is absolutely brilliant, really comfy, helps me stay in place when I have a wobble, doesn't slip at all ...

I know they are quite pricey, but they are worth it, and one of mine I found second hand in the local tack shop. :)

Thank you. I kind of thought that the Heather Moffat would be the one to buy. I was just hoping someone knew of something a little cheaper that was just as good! I'll have a scout around for a bargain Moffat.
