So since the weather has warmed up a bit I’m finding long hacks very erm uncomfortable!

any recommendations for seat savers which would provide a bit of cushioning without feeling sweaty ?!

i feel your pain, as i hadnt ridden for 2 years i went to a riding school for my first hack as soon as i sat on the saddle i knew i was going to be sore, it was like a plank of wood....also it poured with rain all day so my posterior was wet as well which didnt help. next time i am taking my sheepskin seat saver!!!

I have a HM that is 22 years old, and one that is about 18 years old, the older one is a bit shiny but both still functional and in use- which surprises me given the usual lifespan of memory foam!
Both will be coming on a riding hol with us (one for mum, one for me).

I had one made from an old beaver lamb coat, so nice and furry and does not make me hot at all.

I've got a Roma sheepskin one which is very comfy, and there isn't much bulk under your thighs, unlike the Nuumed ones. They wear well too.

I've got the Acavallo Gel Out pads, love them :)

Me too, keeps my bum safe from my Wintec. It's a bit sweaty (ew!) on very hot days but realistically those are still so rare in this country that it's not really a big issue. However I think I may have to figure out a new fix for the bottom straps, as I've just moved to a flocked Wintec rather than a Cair and (as sbloom has said) I assume the little tabs and straps may do some damage to the flocking. Perhaps I should get a sheepy-bum saver for hot weather.*
*I really shouldn't, I spent all my money on a vet bill....if I find one second hand though I don't think it counts :)

They absolutely do damage flocking in a way that isn't possible to 100% fix without a full stripflock. You just can't add flocking in that shape to fix it, you add a little, and know that the panel should bed down again over time to be smooth enough again. They will damage foam too given enough time.

I used to love my Heather Moffat seat saver and took it all over the world on riding holidays. It got stolen along with my saddle :( I've never tried a Acavello so I can't give a comparison I'm afraid.
