Hi, I need to find a seat saver for a western saddle due to serious back injury, can anyone advise on the best type, i.e. memory foam or sheepskin. Many thanks

Get a Heather Moffett one, you won't regret it! You can also get one for Western saddles

I used to use a Heather Moffatt one when I had lower back trouble and it really helped. It is sitting in the bottom of my tack box now.

Feedmark do a Western one and its either gel or memory foam, I can't remember, but quite a bit cheaper than the other one mentioned.

I've got a feedmark one it's got some type of memory gel in it. My mare's first saddle was solid so I needed something to stop me getting a bruised bum!!!

I love it and use it on each saddle now

i ride western and have a sheepskin saver. wouldn't be without it. keeps me cool in summer and when i wear chaps in the winter its beautifully warm. ooohhh!! himmlich!! (heavenly!) mine is the type that has a hole which the saddle horn passes through rather than elastic around the horn - much more stable. i bought mine on ebay for 38 euros last year - no idea what they are going for in uk.... western is v. popular here (germany) and the selection of tack is amazing.
