It's Cyber Monday and my last chance to ask for one of these for my Christmas present!!

Does anyone have any experience with either, and any pros/cons?

Really interested to hear reviews on their performance and use as it's limited online. Seaver is about £80 more than the Equisense Motion in the sale, but does record heart rate, which the Equisense Motion doesn't.

Thanks :-)

I have a Seaver and it does exactly what it says on the tin. I have had a few problems with it but nothing is too much trouble for the company, and most things can be sorted by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I dont use it as often as I probably should but it is fairly accurate in the data it gives you.

My heart rate monitor is broken - it has become dislodged in the unit and whilst I am having to send it to France to be fixed it is costing me nothing more than postage. It does not prevent the rest of it from doing its job I just get a majorly high HR reading so ignore it. I have not been kind to the girth sleeve in the year I have had it and they do a 2 year warranty as standard.

The one thing I do find annoying is all of the data is stored on the app which makes it very slow if you want to look at work from say a week or more ago. But using it in real time - to 3 days back - it is great. It would be better if you could store all the data on a cloud type system and wipe the app every so often.

I haven't seen the Equisense one but I do really rate the Seaver girth sleeve.

I wouldn't touch the Seaver, mine never worked and they had me faff around for weeks trying different phones/accounts/app versions.
I expressed that I wanted to return it and they insisted that they wouldn't pay for return postage (even though they provided me with defective goods) and that I must return it to France at my own cost - not cheap if you send it recorded. I'm aware of others on FB who have also had problems with customer service and the sleeves not being very robust.

It all left a very bad taste in my mouth and the sleeve became an expensive ornament until I chucked it in the bin.

Equisense have a new sleeve that does heart rate - would that be an option?

Maybe it is because I was one of the first people using it on racehorses that they went out of their way to be overly helpful? Not sure but I certainly haven't had any major issues with either the device, it's use, connecting it up or their customer service. Yes my HR bit has become detached (I can hear something rattling around in the device) but they are more than happy to have it back to sort it out for me.

As a pro rider you were probably much further up the food chain than me :D.
Mine never ever connected to my phone or showed up as an option to connect. At a guess either the battery or the bluetooth was at fault. With hindsight I should have just paid the return postage but when you spend £300 on something from a new company you do expect an amount of good customer service.

I also had to wait 2 months for mine to be delivered with absolutely no contact from Seaver to explain the delay until I chased them up.

Thats nothing like my experience with them at all! I ordered one, it came quickly. I have messaged them loads of times with utterly ridiculous questions and they come back to me really quickly. They seem endlessly patient even when my questions are proably abnle to be answered if I looked at the web site/app. I love it as well. It does exactly what its supposed to and provides me with reams of information, which seems to be incredibly accurate.

I'm really pleased with mine. The only downside is I sometimes forget to charge it and it only holds a week or so of charge, but thats more me than the sleeve.

I'm glad you had a good experience, I didn't and was just sharing mine! I'm sure they're great 99% of the time and I was just unlucky. I won't bother in future .

Thanks all for your insights and sharing your experience. I’ve read such mixed reviews online, this thread is exactly reflecting those! Does anyone have any experience with the Equisense?

Looking at the Equisense they are basically identical pieces of kit. To me the Equisense looks a bit bulkier under the girth and may be uncomfortable but the motion sensor and cable look more robust than the Seaver.

The Equimotion says it counts strides for you between fences, the seaver doesn't. You also can't share data from the Seaver but there's nothing stopping you screen shotting and sending info on.

I really don't think there is much between them to be honest.

Er, ok then. Not quite sure why you have the hump with me. My experience has been better than good and I was just sharing that. It doesnt change yours. People are so weird!

Tone is hard to convey in text but quoting me and your first line 'Thats nothing like my experience with them at all! ' read to me like 'that's not what I experienced so there's no way you had a bad experience!'. I'm still p*ssed off that I paid £300 for something that ended up going in the bin with no use so that's affected how I read it.
Sorry for misunderstanding your tone.
