Pony on yard needs more magnesium but he wont eat the heavy mag, it must be the taste. Does seaweed have the same amount of magnesium, as he has in the past had salt in his feeds so would probably eat it.

Tried Nupa feed but its too expensive family would rather look for alternative ways of getting magnesium into the pony.

Seaweed is high in iron and iodine, which then blocks other important minerals like copper and zinc if fed too much of it, so unless you know your horse is lacking iron and iodine in his diet I would avoid it

Ah never thought to suggest salt to diguise the taste. Pony is fed on Hifi lite, along with a balancer. Our soil lacks magnesium and copper hence the balancer but he does become more daft through the summer so it was sugested by instructer to add more magnesium. What carrier would you suggest?

seaweeds not a very good source of magnesium youd have to feed loads for a full dose, and some horses hate seaweed.! my pony wont eat mag ox heavy if he food is too wet .but you could try hiding it with sliced fruit or veg
