What make do you have? In a dream world I would love an oakley, but the budget is 8-10k, so sadly can't play that one out! Have been looking at lots of different makes and I have a few wants/do not wants.

I do want external tack lockers, but not the ones that take space out of the horse area.

I want living (and sleeping!) for 2 people and dogs.

The horse area needs to be spacious, stalled for 3 with good ventilation and bright.

That's about it really so far! So what makes do you have and what do you make of them?

I have a Ford Cargo and it's great, it has everything you want except you may struggle to carry 3 with full living, passengers etc. I would be keeping it except I only have one horse to compete now :(

It has tack lockers in the skirts, and the seating area folds out to make one bed. You could fit a mattress in the luton above the cab to sleep more people.

Also has a sink, hob and fridge, run off leisure batteries which are stored in another skirt locker.

And it's yellow. So although a bit tatty, you don't lose it on a showground. lol

:)

Standing out in the showground is useful! I always forget where I've parked! I'm thinking that we'd probably only ever travel 2....however, some I'm looking at don't have a huge payload.

With a quarter of a tank of fuel and no extras on board, mine has a payload of about 1.7 tons... although if the "kitchen" was replaced with light caravan stuff instead of heavy horsebox stuff, and the laminate flooring was taken out (!) and the metal rug holder taken out, and the partitions replaced with something newer and lighter - I think the payload would improve quite a bit. This is what I intend to do with mine if it doesn't sell... I'm planning to breed from my mare next year so at some point may wish to travel more than one horse again. What a good reason for travellling one horse in a 7.5 ton for the forseeable future :D
