Whats everyones best 2nd hand bargin been?

Last night i went to local feed merchant just to get 1 item! came out with 4 brand new still in bag premier equine bandage wraps for £8, although the best 2nd hand bargin i have had was again going down to local saddlery to find a practically new pair of thermatex leg wraps in the matching colour of my thermatex rug was most excited only problem there was only a pair and not a set but never mind :-) £15 is better than £60.

Oooo nice. I recently got a thick fleece cooler marked down wrong on Sports Direct's website... It was £7.50 and it's fab quality! There are a few sizes still left and still at the wrong price ;)

I just got some Rambo full fleece lined chaps look like never worn for £20

But my best one must be my racesafe which was worn once and I got it for £50- almost felt bad for it!

Got a medium 17.5" Ideal dressage saddle for £70.

Took a punt as really expected there to be something wrong with it. Had saddler look at it before it went anywher near the horse who pronounced it fine and an excellent fit as was. Lovely saddle that just needed a bit of TLC on the conditioning front, bit of discolouration on the seat, but I sit on that!

Oh nice... I would like to be that lucky :-)

I am looking for a racesafe at the moment but only if i can get one at that price!!

My favourite bargain was a mounted police coat. Got it from ebay in about 2001, I think I probably paid a reasonable sum for it like, £40, as it's so awesome. Hiviz upper jacket part, then the bottom completely covers the horses shoulder and bum, with police sign removed, but it does have a truncheon pocket :) Still very useful!

There's a little shop in my town, it's mostly dog grooming but they also have a few horsey items too. And from there I got a Thermatex exercise sheet (this one actually http://www.thermatex.co.uk/thermatex/All_Weather_Nordic_Exercise_Rug.html ) for just £35. Used a handful of times and the perfect fit for my horse. And back then they were retailed at £190. I think that's going to be the best buy of my life!

A full set of leather tendon and fetlock boots, sheepskin lined and hardly worn for £20 :D oh and a brand new leather girth that my mum's friend bought, didn't fit her horse and couldn't be bothered taking it back so gave it me for FREE. Oh and my fave bargain: my ariat devon pros with matching chaps for £35 that I got off ebay. Love a bargain!!

My big horse - on loan to me then handed over, 4* eventer with 500+ points that was only 14 when he came to me, never had a lame day in 5 years and taught me more than 10,000 lessons!

Oh and a thermatex with 1 small snag for £15 was pretty good too

I got a new William Funnell 6'6" heavy weight stable rug new with tags £6 and a lovely black wool day rug used a couple of times £3 from a carboot near me

I took a chance on a pair of open fronted tendon boots on eBay. The picture was so dark & the description just said 'open fronted tendon boots, no reserve'
I got them for £2 & when they came they were practically brand new NEW equine wear ones that fitted my horse perfectly.
Took on a 'problem' horse costing me £5. Owner was so glad to get rid of he that he came with so much stuff - hardly any of which fitted him. I'm talking ridiculous amounts of stuff. 15 rugs, 8 sets of stable bandages, 5 bridles (all full size when he's a cob), a brand new Wintec T4 saddle, 5 dressage girths.....honestly it was just stupid.
Had a good sort out, stuck most of it on eBay....netted nearly £1000 :)
Horse has turned out alright as well!

That's fab!
I got the standard ex police mounted one, its do warm and waterproof, I love it in the winter. Still looking out for the one which covers horses quarters...they never seem to come up anymore :(
