Now before I start, THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT THIS IS A REAL QUESTION, HONEST!

I have 3 pairs of breeches which are practically brand new but are too big for me now - is it worth putting a card up in our local saddlers to try & sell them? They are Toggi, Eurostar and Barbour ones so decent makes, 2 pairs were for competitions so hardly worn - I was thinking of asking about £25 a pair for them?

Wasn't sure whether breeches were the sort of thing that people wouldn't fancy wearing 2nd hand - its not like kids stuff where they keep on growing

i have bought second hand ones, mainly because if i know i like a particular brands type then i will try and find them cheaper as long as they are still in really good condition it doesnt bother me!

Thats great thanks - enough possible 'yes' answers already to make me think it is worth putting a card up, it only costs a donation to charity

Ofcourse!

I bought 4 pairs of second hand pikeur breeches that were all in excellent condition!

What size, colour, style (i.e.high waisted) are they?

I'm not sure I would, but then I only buy cheap jods anyway.

Have you seen the (slightly kinky) dirty used jods that appear on Ebay from time to time? very odd...

There are often 2nd hand ones on ebay, but they are usually cheaper than what you want for them!

Depends really on how you 'market' them... Someone once posted a link to some 2nd hand breeches on ebay . The lady wearing them was featured in several interesting poses wielding a whip...
I don't think they were in the Equestrian section

Breeches sold for more than they cost new if I recall correctly!!

never considered second hand until bought some last week, ended up getting george schumacher breeches which are around £90 for 5.50 off ebay, and didn't even look as if they had been worn they were in that good a condition. Wouldn't buy really second hand though!

So if I get someone to model (complete with dressage whip, long boots and spurs) the new ones I cannot even get a bid on, and put them in a different section as worn I will get more money for them

I would have fun wording that ad

You have to word the ad properly to get good bids apparently. There are like 'buzzwords' that mean the likes of worn, but not washed things like that hence them selling for so much!
