I have a 13.2 Welsh Sec C pony that needs a saddle. She has a table top back which makes life so much harder when looking for saddles. She Has a tiny back so would need a 15-15.5 inch saddle. I need to find a cheaper one or a second hand one. Is there any place to buy second hand saddles in Bedfordshire? Everyone keeps telling me to look on eBay but the saddles I find in her size are either no where near my price range or wouldn't fit her. thanks Issy.

Try a saddle company saddle as they can be altered to any width by a saddle fitter. I have one for my section D and I love it! They are not too expensive 2nd hand

I struggled with ponies like this as well, in the end I found a thorowgood t4 pony club saddle on eBay, and ended up buying it with hope it might fit and it did (15.5 size). They come in loads of different seat sizes from 14-16.5. You can get them anywhere from £100 to £400 depending if you want new or used. Synthetic and much nicer then a wintec, made it Britian as well.

I quite like them, the newer ones have a changeable gullet some of the older ones have the fish inserts as well. If you go onto the thorowgood website you can print out templates to see what gullet you need. I find them more versatile than a wintec or any other saddle really I've got one on a pony that I school now and I can't explain how comfy it is. I see a lot of Welsh c's in these at pony club.

I to measure her today for a gulet for both wintec and thorowgood. However I found she went way off the charts in reality probably needing an xxx wide saddle. Anyone know any saddles that would suit this size? I am open to going treeless.

My built like a tank Section C is in a Jeffries Falcon, although he's quite long backed and it's a 17 inch. I don't know if they go small enough for yours, but it might be worth a look - I paid £60 for mine.

What about a thorns saddle pad? We have one for my daughter to use with her ponies and she loves it. We found that the lads of a pony shape you have the better the fit.
