Been tidying out the loft and garage today, and it has occurred to me that I have collected rather a lot of rugs over the years, and sadly they are all too big to fit my current horse. Is there a market for second hand rugs, and if so is ebay the best place to sell them?

Local tack and feed stores sometimes have 2nd hand area's where you can leave things. Preloved and sites like that are good too as you dont need to pay insetion fee's and deal with people who bid by accident. I sold some rugs and tack recently via Gumtree and the woman took everything I had for her new horse!

You can try & sell them on the net or you could do as we did a couple of weeks ago, we took out no longer used rugs & other horsey items to a horse sanctuary where they were gratefully received. :)

definitely a market for them, but as a buyer I always get put off by the combined price on ebay of starting price plus postage. I know weight is the problem for postage. I think if i can afford to pay that much, i might as well spend the extra pennies for a brand new one! .

I like the sanctuary idea - lots of places are really struggling at the moment money-wise and would appreciate any donations especially before winter kicks in. Why not go half-and-half - sell some and donate some? or if doing it on ebay, set it up so that a small % of auction price goes to go to a selected horse charity?
