If you bought a new saddle for £890 4 months ago and buyer wanted with sale of horse - what would you sell it on for? Saw post in H&H and was querying value of second hand saddles so very confused now

I'd say if the saddle is being sold with the horse it was originally bought for, then it won't have lost much value - however, if you ask too much and she doesn't buy it with the horse, you are left with a 2nd hand saddle that is not worth very much, if that makes sense - so tell her what you paid 4 months ago and ask maybe £650/700.

£500

Once its secondhand its second hand Im afraid! But after that they dont decrease much for a long time.

Unless its something like a wow or devoucoux you need to half its value and add about £50 on top!

Even wows only sell for about £900 at the mo ie just over 50% of retail value.

However I think you could go for £600 as it fits the horse. Worth a try! But if you dont sell it with the horse it can be more difficult to sell for a decent price. Bear that in mind!

Wether it's 4 weeks or 4 months old I'm afraid it is still a second hand saddle. If you got £600 for it it would be marvelous....though I expect you may get around the £500 mark. Probably not what you wanted to hear but that's what I reckon....sorry
