Hi all - with winter on it's way I spent a whole day trying to wade through all of my horsey paraphernalia to try and organise myself and came across mountains of items that I really don't need or want any more! (saddles, rugs, the lot.)

With Sandon Saddlery's closure earlier this year I am at a loss as what to do with it all and wondered if anyone knew of other second hand tack shops in the Essex area - I have been to Cat Lips before, and can make the journey if necessary! But wondered if anyone knew of any others near to Essex?

Thanks!

Sorry I do not know your area at all, but possibly facebook pages such as Essex riders horse shop - there are probably more.

I find table top tack sales a good way to sell lower value/bulky surplus stuff. If there isn't one in your area you could always bite the bullet and organise one - it's easy to get word out via Facebook and people seem to like doing them/going to them. Just hire a village hall with good parking for a half a day (you don't need more than a couple of hours for the sale but do need time to set up and take down), lay on some tea/coffee (and cake) and rope in a few chums to help. It always helps if you give some the proceeds to a horse charity.

Yep and you are missing out! Lords Tack shop at Gosfield near Halstead Essex
Sue Lord is lovely, the shop is crammed full of stuff and she sells on a commission, if she doesn't have what you want she will ask around and most importantly she has a lot of other food goodies to sell too (human and horse!)

Enjoy!
