First I am selling my saddle to my saddler and waiting for his call on what he will offer me so dont dive on this as an advert it isnt I just want to preapre myself .

Its an Albion K2 171/2 n m fitting 3 years old what do you think the second hand value would be ? I realise my saddler will need a profit so will allow for this in his sums.

i have a similar saddle (K2 17" M) and my saddler offered me £350 for it. I decided to keep it in the end as i paid much much more than that for it. I am hoping it will fit my youngster come spring.

Personally I would put it on ebay. I sold a Stubben and a derby house dressage saddle on ebay and got far more than any saddler had offered me.

blimey, I got £350 for my Ideal event saddle as a part X from my saddler. I loved the saddle but Albions are worth more than that. PS it was over 10yo! (perfect nick tho)

I sold my Albion K2 Jump black 17.5 m/w on Preloved recently for £600 (which is what I paid for it from my saddler not long ago). It took a few weeks as I waited for someone who was willing to collect, if you are happy to post then would have sold quicker.

p.s loved it so much was actually sad to sell it and half wish I hadn't but the opportunity to make back what I paid was too good to pass up as not guarentees it will fit future neds!

I sold mine on Ebay for nearly £400 just before Christmas. Same model, but a little older.

I bought an Albion K2 jump 17.5 M/W about 2 months ago and LOVE it. I'm not sure how old it is but probably about 4-5 years. It is in very good condition but the saddle fitter i bought it from was asking £695 for it which is what I paid (although I did part x my old saddle for a shockingly small amount of money. Should have kept it as a spare dammit!)

Hi there
My saddler bought my 10 year old Albion Selecta (close contact GP with interchangable flaps) for £280 6 years ago. It was in perfect structural condition, but the seat had evidence of mold spots on it. So it was not in great aesthetic condition. I was chuffed to bits with £280!! I then bought a second hand but in new condition Albion GP for £450 on ebay 6 years ago. Both saddles are 17.5, brown, MW. You should be able to get a very good price for your saddle if it's in good condition.

My K2 jump was £650 and I love it. They hold their value really well, and are a nightmare to get hold of!! I agree, try ebay, you're likely to get a much better price for it. Good luck!

are they really?

I had the Albion saddle fitter come out (she told me she fits saddles to william fox pitt!) and she measured my mare all up and told me exactly what model, size, width etc she needed.
She priced one up for me and it would have been £1100 *gulp* - i declined

So instead i went home and popped on ebay and found the exact same model, size etc for £500. Bought it on the spot - fit her a treat until she changed shape (how inconsiderate!)

Loved it so much though i havent the heart to sell it.

Saddlery rang me this morning I have only just recovered enough to post.

£300 I fainted! So I am having it back tomorrow and storing it back in my front bedroom maybe I'll wake up one morning and feel like putting it on a horse otherwise I shall be wearing it as a hat!!

My saddler will sell saddles on a commission basis, takes 25%. She generally gets a bit more than on ebay but you don't get the money till it's sold.
Maybe worth trying a few other people.

AFAIK, N/NMs sell for less than M/MW sort of size, and GPs sell for less than the jumps

I bought my K2 jump for £650 on ebay a few months ago (and ended up having to have the tree narrowed because the b**ch who sold it to me had had it widened without mentioning it on the listing.... but that's another story!)

I would not let yours go for less than £500 tbh. you could definitely sell it for at leat that on ebay or another internet site.

Or get another horse that the saddle fits :D
