Second season

Our lovely 17 month old crossbreed is currently in season. She was a little flat at the start but she's pretty much herself now. She's on her 16th day of bleeding, I know it depends on the individual but this seems longer than we've experienced with our other dogs.
I thought I'd ask on here how long peoples dogs tend to bleed for? Our previous dog was spayed so it's a while since we've gone through this. TIA

I have known bleeding to last throughout the full 3 weeks, no necessarily every day but I don't think 16 days is unusual.

Thanks. I'm not concerned as such but would like to know what to expect. She definitely didn't bleed for as long for her first season. Google tells me 7-10 days so its nice to hear it's not unusual.

Some first seasons are very short.

Clovers first season was a non event really, but she bled for 24 days on her second season and she found it much harder to cope with. Vets informed all the way and along with breeder said its nothing to worry about. She was spayed after her third season which was more in line with a 'normal' season

Thanks, I think we'll have her spayed between this season and her next (about January).

As an update, her last day of bleeding was Tuesday so 18 days in total.
