Tnavas - Awwww! Your cat is a clone of my Burt!
Mine are all in at night, we have lampers who hunt anything that moves round here and have lost a few cats to them, so they get their grub at night and then they're in. During the day the window is either left open or the front door into the garden, if it's cold they have us well trained and do the whole puss-in-boot eyes at the window and are in and out like yoyo's!!
Star26 - we did oriinally try and re-home a few when we first started neutering all the local stray farm cats but as no-one in this area ever bothered neutering cats so there were so many about no-one wanted them, the CP said they'd take them to pts!!:O So they usually get trapped, then hauled off to the vets for an MOT - teeth if needed, neuter etc, we worm/flea them and feed them up for a couple of weeks then they move in when released - they're not daft!, and only 4 actually hunt anything, the owls do a better job of the rats than the cats do!!
We did have few left with the farm when we bought it as the previous folk couldn't take them, one lived till she was 23 and her daughter was pts last year at 22 - so not bad!! We've had about 40 done over the 14yrs we've been here, only one moved into a neighboring farm the rest stayed, and have either died off of old age, been run over, got by a fox/dog we don't know what happened to some but they got a chance more than they would have normally as lots get used round here to train terriers on too or drowned/shot!!
All the cats on here are so cute, I love the black and white upside down cat Leroy - so sweet, and Milo looks like another we had ages ago called Suicide Sid - he liked to play with the bugs on the road hence the name and sadly the inevitable happened!!! And Janah your tortie is a clone of one left here called Pickle who was the sweetest little thing!
