Sections, folds, slices.... how do you refer to a 'piece' of hay?

I call it a cake. Have done for well over 30 years. Don't know where I got it from though. That's another problem with getting older. :-)

An IKEA bag!

Thats what I call 3 slices :) Its my measure of hay. Ill ask the YO to give my pony an IKEA bag of hay :)

Otherwise, slice x

Not sure if anyone else calls it this (didn't trawl through all eight pages :o) but I, and all my family, call them 'wads' of hay! Same with straw, as in 'fetch me three wads of straw for this shed'.

Such farmers :p

Normally call it a slice of hay, have sometimes called it a flake of hay too.

Although I am normally asking relatively non horsey people to get me some, so I often just say a 'bit' of hay, followed by making a measurement in the air with my hands :p

Section.

Anything else would just sounds weird to me!! Especially biscuit?? Why a biscuit? I'm picturing a Rich Tea or Digestive and just can't see the correlation :D
