My horse is not the easiest to clip - not sure why as he is quite happy to be hogged but for some reason hates the clippers on his shoulder/neck area - I have used ACP in the past (approximately 15 in total). This year the vet has given me Sedalin gel and told me to give him the whole tube. Just wondered how many ACP tablets a tube of sedalin equates too!! I know it does not work on all horses - but he does need something to take a bit more than the edge off him!!

My horse is a horror to clip and I use Sedalin to take the edge off him. This year I only had 3 little bits left can't remember the amounts they are.(ml?) He is a 16.3 warmblood and well built. He was as good as gold. A whole tube should to the trick I reckon!!

How big is your horse? Mine is 17.2, and he has practically a whole tube of sedalin to clip too - I found with him it works better than ACP, but not sure how many acp to a tube of sedaline. Still have to get the clipping done pretty quick in case it wears off, but found it better than ACP tablets.

He is only 15hh but hate his shoulder area done (think its cause he so well built) and then loses his tolerance of clipping now and again throughout - toys out the cot part way through if you know what I mean. I get a friend to help too. I dread this time of year - its got to be done but I hate doing it otherwise I can't ride.

Just give him the whole tube - we use the stuff regularly and it's fine

for sedalin to work keeping in as stress free a situation as you can and it will do the trick. if the get stress adrenilin kicks in and it does not work a full tude seems a lot for a 15h nbut if you v et says give him the tube then give him it

I find sedalin amazing, much better than acp - just before you clip (and abt half an hour after feeding), try and make him trot a few circles - my vet recommended this - pumps it through their blood and makes them knackered! my nervy horse didnt even notice the clippers!!
good luck!

Thank you very much for all your responses - I have taken it all on board and also read the H & H article. Interesting about a couple of circuits of trot beforehand - will certainly try it. Thanks again.
