Am planning on getting H freeze marked but am trying to decide what type of sedation will be best.

He will deffinately need something as he is neurotic and doesn't like new people or processes and is quite sensitive on his shoulder. He is also v nervous.

He also has to be vet sedated when I clip him.

Also he won't let you syringe wormer in his mouth he has to have it in his feed so not even sure if I would get the sedaline in him!

But then again I don't want to have to pay for the vet call out fee if I don't have to esp as I will be needing him sedated for clipping later in the year.

But then again I don't want him knobbering around then them not being able to mark it/ not being able to do it properly so I end up paying for that call out then again to finish it and having to pay for the vet anyway!

So would you reccomend vet or sedaline?

Hi, You can get something called Demosedan from vets now which is stronger than sedalin but you administer it through a syringe just under tongue. It works really well, had to do my horse to be shod while recovering from an operation and no way I could afford to get vet out every time.

Sedalin is a cheaper option if it works, my horse was very dopey on it the first time he had it and for some reason the second time had no effect at all. You have to be quite generous with it to.
Could you not get him freeze marked and clipped together and a vet come out to sedate properly.
