Gave my horse 3ml sedalin this morning to trot him up and lunge him to video for the vet (currently on box rest).
How long before I can give him a net, he’s not as sleepy as normal sedation but normal sedation has normally worn off by now! His eyes are a bit droopy but he’s alert kicking the door etc, never used sedalin before only domosedan or vet sedation!

I wouldn't give food until he is his normal self again. It won't kill him to wait a while. Presumably he had eaten before he had the sedation?
Yes that’s a fair point, he’s fed ablib anyway so had hay overnight then had a bit haylage before sedation! I wasn’t sure if it was safe to feed on as I know it’s used for also going in the field

I am not a vet. I believe is would likely be fine but my vet always impressed upon me not to feed until they were normal as there is a risk of choke. It just didn't seem worth any risk when there is no danger in waiting.

No I agree, will leave him another couple hours. We’ll be hitting the 4 hour mark by then so hopefully he’s less sleepy!
