Trying my girl with sedalin for the farrier next time. A few Qs-
1) is there any other way of feeding it than out the tube, as my girl isn't keen on being wormed and as this is similar, I want to keep things as chilled as possible.

2) If you use a bit can you save the rest for the next time, or will it have "gone off" once it has been open 6 weeks?!

3) Is it palatable ie would they lick it off your hand?

4) Is it like full vet sedation where they can't eat for an hour after?

1) I have given it in feed before no probs, not sure if this affects how it works but seemed to work ok on this horse (I think it affects horses differently)

2) I assume it has a best before data but it should keep for a while

3) Erm I doubt it?

4) Don't think so, but you should be getting it from your vet anyway so check with them?

i dont think they'd lick it off your hand!
try rubbing it on the gums if you dont want to 'squirt' it as such.
and yes you can save it, they have dates on them but they last a while

I put Sam's in the middle of an apple. Works best on an empty'ish stomach.
No they wont lick it off your hand.
It is ok to use it till use by date
Only makes them a bit dopey - not zonked like intravenous sedation does and doesnt always have much effect on them.

Definitely not, I'm afraid!!

My Beans is a greedy piggy, and easy as pie to worm, but she does not like sedalin.

I had merry hell getting Sedalin down Jim, he hates the taste & seems to detect it if it's hiddern in food too. I found the best bet was to wear thin latex gloves, put the dose on a finger then shove it in his mouth & smear it about so he couldn't spit it out. Best followed with a few polos if I wanted him to talk to me again!

I was told to wear gloves as apparently it can be absorbed through the skin. Personally I think I could have done with it ....
