does anyone use it for clipping?
my 16.2 irish gelding can be a bit of a pain to clip, especially near his head, so far i have clipped him using a twitch, but it does take a long time, i usually have to finish off the next day and can be quite stressful for both of us!
please tell me your experiences, good or bad?

Well not used for clipping, but used on stressed tb mare today to be shod, worked a treat, she was almost asleep on her feet. She had been a pain to shoe the last half doztimes so vet suggested it. 4 ml worked , she was still dozy few hours after .
 
yep used it for clipping my big boy (rip)

he would be okish but still a nightmare on one side, he did hate them

he would run you down if he even heard them getting switched on even if it was someone else lol x

My vet said if they have any kind of adrenaline going before it kicks in it won't make any difference and I've found that to be true. My boy saw the clippers before I sedated him the first time. He began to sweat within minutes. Second time I let it set in and then clipped him. He began to sweat after an hour or so, but he barely moved. As soon as he showed signs of stress (the sweating) I put the clippers away.
 
Ive not used it yet but my vet gave me a tube incase I need it for clipping and my dentist also said to use it before he comes out to take the edge off her .. My vet told me 2ml an hour before

thank you, i have been told to keep clippers hidden until it had taken effect!
 
Make sure you give it at least 30 mins to work - and then it is great for clipping, and other invasive procedures.......not for all equines, I once had a horse that had a whole tube of sedaline, and then still needed to be twitched for clipping, and still almost hospitalised me.....but generally a couple of clicks works really well.....
 
Yes but tbh don't know if it actually works! He still has a wobbler when he sees the clippers & just before we start although is fine when they are actually on him (as long as he has a conveyor belt of carrots!!). To do a full clip I have to get vet to sedate him as the sedalin does naff all
 
Used it today for my boy ( and a twitch). It didn't work 100%. He struck out twice but his mini explosions were far and few between, the rest of the time he was quiet. The worst part was that he sweated lots - it's a side effect and made clipping a lot more tricky.
