My horses were let out on Thursday night from there field where they proceeded to canter down a dual carriageway for 2 miles, the police managed to get them into a lady's field where they proceeded to wreck fencing and injure her horse. We have managed to capture our cob but our little rescue pony that is still wild is now in this lady's field. The vet has come out bought us sedalin which we used today to sedate him in order to try and catch him, it didn't' work so just wondered if anyone has any idea? We have tried the wait for him to come to us but the field is so big it's just not happening either, obviously the lady would like us out the field although they are lovely people I need this sorted so their horse can come back to his field. The sedalin didn't make any difference to him!

Get a few friends and trap him in a corner - sedalin on adrenaline filled ponies has very little effect - corner him quietly and grab him. Good luck. Sorry to hear your horses were let out at all - nasty people put there.

Had to put the sedalin in some food in a bucket and leave it in the middle of the field, as can't get near him, tried to get people to corner him but we are worried he might try and jump out the field as that is what he looked to do!

What a horrible thing to have happen!
Sedalin has no effect on my mare, the vet said it either works well or doesn't at all with some horses so not sure if it's worth proceeding with that.
Is there any way of getting your cob back to the field this one is in? The pony might not come to you but would be glad to see their companion perhaps and may follow it.
Good luck!

This happened to me with a wild pony we rescued three days later no joy our neighbour bought down her pony and parked trailer in field with old reliable pony in and our lad walked in to join him. We tried cornering and he jumped out hope u get the lad home ok
