Hi guys,
My friend has a 2 yr old warmblood mare. She had a seedy toe on both fronts and they seemed, for a while, to be improving.
However, recently one of them has cracked upwards towards the crest and a small hole has appeared about 1.5 inches up. She brought her in this morning and noticed that all round the bottom of the hooves have small cracks like they are about to chip; she only has contact with soft ground; there are no stones or hard terrain. She was trimmed 2 weeks ago on one hoof and filed on the other.
It is her seedy toe that has cracked quite badly.
Any thoughts on remedies or experiences? Farrier coming tomorrow.
