Seriously, the very best thing is Antibac, available from your farrier. I thought sugardine/iodine was best until I tried this, and am a total convert.As a donkey owner, ST is a common and regular problem.

If the hoof is unshod, a soak in Cleantrax will kill all germs in one treatment.

I soaked Toffees in Milton daily when she got the very begining of one and my farrier came out fortnightly was gone in two months but then I did catch it very early.
