I was jump schooling my horse today and in general we did ok but at one point I couldn't see my stride to a rather large fence. I knew I was wrong but was on a good canter so I kicked and asked for a 'big one'. As you can see he obliged! My flatwork trainer tells me to leave the horse to sort the stride out and as long as the canter is good and in a good rythum leave him be, my jump trainer says that when you get to height you do need to 'see a stride' and I am inclined to agree! Luckily this horse is honest and will have a go but my other WB would have stopped dead if he was wrong as we were here. Opinions welcomed!x

thanks CWC, I agree, this jump was 4ft 6 high and wide. We took off very early and it was a tad pulse raising! A friend who was with me was telling me that I should leave him to it but by god it would have been a right mess if I had. Just interested in others opinions. x
