I wanted to put up a post in praise of my amazing insurance company, SEIB. My horse fractured a splint bone July last year and needed surgery - SEIB paid up without any trouble in full, including eight days livery and nursing care. When the policy came up for renewal the only exclusion was on that specific splint bone - nothing else.

In March this year he smashed his hock resulting in cartilage damage and needed arthroscopic surgery, and lots of after care. Similarly SEIB have now paid up the bill in full, including all the livery, nursing care, after care, etc. They have been so supportive and helpful. If it wasn't for them my horse would almost certainly be either fully retired or put to sleep. Now he has a chance of coming back into work as a dressage horse.
They have paid in excess of 3K in vets bills in under a year. I could never afford that out of my own pocket.

I can't recommend them highly enough. This post is an attempt to say thank you for such great service and for really doing what they claim in their advertising.

Thats Excellent news that your horse is making a good receovery- I totally agree with your comments re SEIB- I use them too and they've always been faultless and quick to pay out.

They have been brilliant to us as well.
The girl on the phone knows my sister so well after years of issues that she now recommends our re-hab livery/teaching business to people. We often get people phoning to say SEIB recomended us!

LOL! They know me on the phone now too, worryingly. Not a good sign when you are on first name terms with your underwriter.......

I wanted to say a public thanks to them, they really have been fab.

Me too. Was with them on a worst-case-scenario. Very human and sympathetic as well as good on paying up as and when.

I did not find them very helpful at all. My tack was stolen and they refused to pay up because they said I had to give them receipts for each item that was lost. I only had the receipt for the saddle. They said that surely I still had the credit card statements for stuff that I bought 5 years ago. They made me feel like I was a thief and a liar.

My house insurance paid up in the end, with absolutely no aggro - DirectLine !!! they went for SEIB and got some of their money back.

I will never use them again. I have found NFU much nicer.

Ditto SEIB are fantastic, they paid out about £7000 on two separate sickness' last year without any quibbles at all. They even paid £400 in transport to get back and forth to bristol all on a few occasions!
When I ring, Laura who deals with me knows who I am before I give any policy details...whether thats a good thing or not I have no idea!!!

That is brilliant news, Murphy has an inoperable chip fracture his hock which he got in March and I am currently going through diagnostics at Rossdales to find out what we can do for him. He's with SEIB so to know they will pay out is reassuring.
