Well having to take them to the financial ombudsman to get your money back I would say is not good.....but for every person I hear of who has also had issues with them, there is someone who raves about them. Luck of the draw I guess.
We had out trailer with them for 9 years, then it got stolen in May. SEIB wanted proof we owned it as they didnt believe we did, even though we had insured with them for 9 years!!! So after much rumaging through anything and everything they eventually decided to, but we have yet to recieve the money!!
Have used them for years with no worries- have always paid out a claim as soon as is possible and never quibbled over anything. Have no reason to fault them really!
Now isn't this funny as i've just replied to your other post re AIMS stating the awful time I had with them yet my experience with SEIB is exactly the opposite.
I had a mare insured with them some years ago and had 2 claims in one year. One of them I was expecting them to quibble over as it could have been a pre-exsisiting condition though we didn't know about it, but they paid out very promptly every month without batting an eyelid.
In all I had over £2k's worth of vets fees and every month I sent them the bill and had a cheque more or less by return!
both mine are insured with them, and havent had to claim, but did have money probs, and they didnt mind me waiting a month to pay 2 lots, so i could continue my insurance with them.... which i though was good of them/
Don't like them, I wouldn't insure with them again. They lost my claim, then said they hadn't received vet report, then it magically appeared and they said they wouldn't pay any of my vet bills for the investigation into my horses problem until diagnosis had been made and then they would make a decision. They never paid.
