Thanks for your help .... i will try a pelham with double reins
- but if all doesn't go to plan then i will keep the snaffle :P

Also does your horse have to be all trimmed up
- or can he have little feathers at the back of his legs ?
And what do you do about clipping ?

Thanks again :)

Hmmmm never heard of these classes, my horse was until recently on working livery and will go for pretty much anyone! All trimmed can be smart! have a feeling its not something I could do well in though :p we are both showing novices :p

Don't clip but his legs should be as well trimmed as possible. Better to do it a couple of days before hand so if you do do anything that looks a bit harsh it may have settled down. The conformation judges are good enough to see behind a few left on hairs but obviously the neater the better.

Ok, thankyou for the tip !! :)
So i'll just cut his feathers off 1 or 2 days before, and wont clip him out again, let his fur grow, so it all looks the same !!
Thankyou for all the help
Are you doing any of the qualifiers ?

No, am lucky enough to have done HOYS with my boy. I did SFAS with him first year I had him and he was third out of 22 in the only one we did. He then qualified HOYS open classes the next year. Good luck with yours and let us know how you get on - it is really worth doing even if you don't win.

Awwww well done - thats brill !!!
Glad you did well !! :)
Got any other tips ? - Hehe
I rode in the pelham and double reins this afternoon -
And he actually went really good !!
Yhyh will deffo let you know how i get on :)

Definitely do it!! I won the Riding Club Show Horse in June at Vale View - I cant wait to get to HOYS!! My girl and I had just done local showing before this season (She is also doing county this year) SFAS is brilliant and the judges are very helpful and lovely :) ENJOY!!!!! xx
