Why is it that Ulla can't hear a thing when I tell her to come out of the house into the cold, but she can hear me unwrap a chocolate bar from the next room? Eh???
And whats with hypnotic stare and the copious drooling following said unwrapping of chocolate bar???

Lmao. I began to think our old dog was deaf, she got left swimming laps around a pond (she paddles..it's walkable depth and just does her own thing) after not coming, I had to go back ten minutes later and she was still going round and round) but once she saw and heard me, came leaping. But rustle of food and she's there!

Selective hearing is definately a dog thing...Alf can't hear me 4 feet away if he's got his nose in the long grass, but can hear a cat walking down the pavement 30 feet away through a closed door!

Its a bit like horses. They can no way feel your leg on their side but a fly lands and they feel every little fly foot!!!!

My old lab was exactly the same. She'd bomb round top speed and ignore you for HOURS, then you would literally open the fridge and she'd be behind you!! As someone said, quite like a man!!

I can call my mastiff bitch as much as I like to come in but she is as deaf as a post. But open the cupboard door in which the dog biscuits are kept and heh! We come in like a shot!

The boy is nowhere near as canny!!! But then he is male so it is to be expected!!!
