Is it normal for ponies to prefer jumping logs and wood material reather than proper jumps?

Jumped Blacky yesterday and it was great! but she took a bit of work before she started to jump them. This was only my 4th ever time jumping, but she has jumped before, not much though. The past times i've jumped, she's been the same but when she jumps up in the woods, she loves it and jumps without even being told to!
So should we just stick to logs or keep trying with the proper jumps?
Video of jumping is up in the PG if you're interested

I dont know the answer to your question but the way i see it is what would you prefere..... Jumping in a boring ring around wooden and boring poles or being out in the fresh air of the woods, with all of nature around you jumping exciting and different objects??? I know which id prefere!!

If she is anything like sisters cob he much prefers hacking and jumping XC style fences or logs out hacking than schooling or SJ fences. More of a buzz for us so can only assume its the same for them

Daisy definitely prefers logs to jumps but I think its all part of her prefering hacking to schooling. Depends on how you approach it as well because my instructor reckons that I'm having more trouble with SJ compared to cross country because I'm asking her to do it properly rather than just cantering at it
