If they're close enough, turn your hors's backside towards them and keep turning until you can get away from them. Same thing if someone grabs your bridle- turn away from them. They have to move around the horse, and keep out of the way of feet.

I have to say, I wouldn't be too scared if on Star as she is not stranger friendly, or easily scared. I'm quite sure she would look after me. Be on the other hand is much sweeter and younger....

A friend I was at college with had some man try and pull her off her horse...

I'd be alright on Hattie, she will actually run someone over, I have to steer her round people or she will actually go over them, but she is never bargey on the ground.
Gyp, I don't have a clue what he would do, but as he is nervous of strangers I doubt he would let anyone near him anyway.

our pony will just run you over given half the chance as instructor found out the other day..oops.. if anyone tried to grab new horses bridle i think she would pull her head away before they got the chance or she'd headbutt them!

Someone tried to grab hold of my horse's bridle in a lane a few years back. He asked her name then made a lunge for the reins. I was on the common so kicked her on and she pulled a face at him and went to boot him, good girl. She doesn't like strangers.
