Hello as title really, Anybody who goes from yard to yard doing horses as a full time job not for extra cash mind giving me a rough idea of what you charge? do you charge per horse your riding or as a job lot? mucking out? tack cleaning? all of the above for 1 person, or do you charge hourly? if you were doing a whole afternoon for 1 person what would you charge? do you charge travel on top? also bringing in at night? last one transport with and without grooming? all places about 20/25min drive of each other any help gratefully received. thank you

Charge per job, NOT hourly then you're not clock watching.

I used to be full time freelance but I've given up to have babies now so here's what I used to charge. Varies by area though. I'd also be interested in what others charge.

Riding -
Hack out £15, extra £7 ride and lead.
School £20-£25
Back youngster £45
Take unknown horse hunting £45 (both usually crash test dummy jobs!)
Compete £10 per dressage test or jumping class, £30 ode.
Lunge £10
View and try horses to buy/show horse to prospective buyers £30-£40

Yard work
Variable, depending how many on yard, how regular etc

Pull mane/tail £5-£15 depending on when they last did it
Trim feathers £2.50/leg
Clipping from £25 for chaser to £60 for the lot off

That's all off the top of my head. Not to be big headed but I had a v good reputation and was always busy, when I was starting out I did a lot of jobs for much less until I was established and could pick and choose a bit more :)

Thank you very much yours are about what I was thinking, I have a very good reputation in my area for the work I do at the moment which is lovely when I hear people have been talking about it and i have a fair few people who want me to work for them, but have had to turn them down for now due to not having enough hours in the day until I drop a secure job I have at the moment. Now I think I could make enough money to drop it. the 2 people I work for at the moment want to me to up my hours and have 1 in the pipeline who keep on at me to work for them I currently work for 2 of them hourly but have told them that would have to change.
