Hi
If you are a member of BSJA they offer you cover for any horse that you ride or are handling. I think even associate members get this benefit too.
Pony club member ship also gives you that coverage too (age dependant on membership)

Be careful with insurance through BSJA etc - often, if you read the small print, the insurance is invalidated if you are being paid.

Do you have any qualifications? If so SEIB might be the best place. If you have your stage 3 care you can join the BHS register of grooms which comes with insurance - though it does cover for the whole year. NFU migth be worth a call and possible KBIS though I have heard mixed reports about them.

sorry corton is wrong. public liability offered through pc/rc/be/bd/bsja will NOT cover you if doing this for financial gain. nor will the owners horse policy. you need commercial third party liability and 3c liability as a minimum god forbid something goes wrong and they can prove you negligent. SEIB/ shearwater etc offer these policies for freelance work. dont know if they do short term cover for the self employed. are you self employed all year? or are just hoping for freelance work over the holiday? i would speak to your accountant re your tax returns etc if only doing this for short term. but you really do need to make sure you are covered for all eventualities, as the sueing culture is big business.
